Monthly events in the Clubhouse
Thursday 12 January, 7.30pm – A talk from Bob Colquhoun which was something which he had been meaning to do but Covid got in the way. He is giving a talk and film show of his epic trip returning the fully restored 60ft “Jasper” – a local fishing vessel- to the communities of Eriskay and Scalpay in August 2019. So why not pop along for a catch-up and a relaxing evening with friends. (Bar is open.) Here’s a taster pic which Bob took with some of the Scalpay residents that knew and worked Jasper when she was a new boat in 1968.
Thursday 26 January, 7.30pm – A talk on Alfred Mylne- the famous Scottish boat builder by our by our member, David Gray.
Friday 10 February – Ladies Pink Night – pink gin and everything! Hosted by Pam MacFarlane – more details soon. –
Thursday 9 March, 7.30pm – An instructional talk- especially relevant to new members- about the way our moorings are constructed and how we should be manoeuvering within our harbours. With so many boats surrounding each mooring it is important that every member has the skill and knowledge to be able to safely both leave and pick up their own mooring. Also discussed will be the method of attaching the correct lengths of chain to the seabed sinkers and so avoiding close encounters with neighbouring craft!
Thursday 23 March, 7.30pm – Club Racing – rules and hints. We have quite a few new members who are interested in getting involved in our club racing. George will explain how the courses work and ways of utilising local knowledge to get ahead of the opposition!
