Thanks for the suggestions. RC Piers and Moorings is going with Techy as although “privy” has various meanings, he feels that most folk will think its referring to a “shed”!

I attended Alloa Technical and Commercial School. There we did Techy drawing which of course was Technical drawing. But that all it was ever called “Techy”. So we had a techy drawing teacher, a techy drawing class. Technical was always called Techy in Alloa. So if its good enough for Alloa…………………

How about the ‘PRIVY’

The Oxford Dictionary defines ‘privy’ as;

adjective
1 (privy to) sharing in the knowledge of (something secret or private): he was no longer privy to her innermost thoughts
2 archaic hidden; secret: a privy place

I do remember you – I’m sure you were Commodore the year I started sailing with Phil. Full details of membership fees etc as well as a form to download to submit to the Secretary to enquire about membership are on the website under Club Info – Membership. Hope this helps.

My name is Christine,(55+), I have been a member of the club for two years now and sail a Mirror dinghy.
I completed both parts of the ‘Day Skipper course last year and would love to crew on larger yachts to gain more experience. I have been crewing at Port Edgar on Thursday evenings until now but would like to do more local crewing if possible. 07933995433
